About Eclipse Flooring & Design

Herb Jones, and I’ve been installing floors since 1988 — 38 years on the tools, and this year marks 30 years as a licensed California contractor (CSLB #751126). Eclipse Flooring & Design is the family-owned company my wife Angie and I run from our home in Folsom, and when you hire us, I’m the one who shows up. I do the measure, I give you the number, and I’m on my knees in your living room installing it. No crew you’ve never met, no hand-off.

Flooring started as a job for me. Somewhere along the way it became a craft, and then a passion for how a floor changes the feel of a whole house. It’s the one surface you touch every day, and it sets the tone for everything that sits on top of it. I take that seriously.

What I do

Luxury vinyl plank and tile, hardwood (glue-down, nail-down, and engineered), laminate, ceramic and stone tile, carpet, and sheet vinyl — residential and light commercial. I handle the whole job, not just the floor: tear-out and haul-away, subfloor prep and leveling, moisture testing on slabs, baseboard and trim, and pulling and resetting toilets and appliances so you’re not chasing three different trades. Custom tile showers too.

I work with several local flooring retailers, so you get a wide selection without the big-box runaround, and I’m glad to coordinate with your general contractor or designer if you have one.

How I work

Honest numbers, a clear written scope, and a floor that’s installed the way the manufacturer intended so the warranty actually means something. I’ve been in this trade long enough to know that the prep nobody sees is what makes a floor last, and I don’t skip it.

Angie and I are raising our three kids here in Folsom, and we’re invested in this community — it’s where they go to school and where most of our work comes from, one referral at a time. We serve Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Roseville, Rocklin, and the surrounding Sacramento area.
